TikTok is testing hour-long videos
Briefly

TikTok has recently been experimenting with longer content options. Prior to the 60-minute trial, some creators could post 30-minute clips, while regular users had a limit of 10 minutes. In addition, creators selling subscriptions had access to 20-minute uploads.
The platform is moving away from its shortform video roots towards longer, YouTube-like content. To incentivize longer videos, TikTok creators were informed that sharing horizontal clips could lead to a 'boost,' and the monetization program now requires videos over a minute for eligibility.
While other platforms mimic TikTok's shortform video trend, TikTok is differentiating itself by emphasizing longform content and livestreaming. This shift aligns with hosting livestreamed events, reflecting a departure from its initial focus on bite-sized videos.
