The issue with regard to e-bikes is that if bill does include e-bikes, that may open the door to rebuilding and/or repairing e-bike batteries...repaired or rebuilt batteries have been the source of several fires.
People for Bikes lobbied to amend the Digital Fair Act to exclude e-bikes and lithium-ion batteries, following New York's steps to reduce fires from such repairs.
