Google is improving the Android data migration tool for faster and better data transfers, even after the initial phone setup.
The improved tool will use a new 'MultiTransportD2DTransport' protocol that uses Wi-Fi and wired connection simultaneously to boost transfer speed.
Settings changed on the new phone won't be overwritten during data transfer after setup, and data can only be migrated from a previously used device.
