Infielder Danny Mendick of the Chicago White Sox is headed to the 10-day injured list due to lower back tightness, while infielder Bryan Ramos, the team's No. 4 prospect according to Baseball America and MLB.com, has been called up from Double-A Birmingham.
Bryan Ramos, the 22-year-old infielder, has shown recent improvement at the plate, going 11-for-33 with five doubles and two home runs over his last eight games for the Birmingham Barons.
Originally signed as an amateur free agent in 2018, Ramos has a cumulative .255/.342/.428 slash line across 391 games in the White Sox system since 2019 and is set to debut in the majors, wearing No. 44.
Infielder Danny Mendick, drafted by the White Sox in 2015, will be sidelined due to his lower back tightness which has put him on the injured list retroactive to May 2, after appearing in 10 games this season.
