Higher education institutions have found themselves in cybersecurity turmoil as hackers target faculty and student data, with research and medical centers particularly vulnerable, according to Moody's.
Smaller institutions showed a significant increase in cybersecurity spending, but larger universities still lead, with a vast majority of large and extra-large institutions having dedicated cybersecurity line items.
While almost all medium to extra-large institutions have a cyber attack response plan in place, smaller institutions lag behind, possibly due to resource constraints.
