'Unseasonably cold' storm driving another chilly, damp weekend for Southern California
Briefly

Most of the rain from the "unseasonably cold" storm system will be concentrated in the Central Coast, but the moisture-heavy storm will bring a chance for showers and light rain as far south as San Diego through Sunday, with rain totals not expected to exceed one-tenth of an inch.
"It's definitely going to be below normal," said National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Wofford, with temperatures expected to be at least 10 degrees below average in Southern California this weekend compared to early May.
Wind gusts are expected to pick up across the region through Monday, with San Bernardino mountains and Apple and Lucerne valleys under a wind advisory this weekend, experiencing winds above 25 mph and gusts up to 65 mph, potentially reaching 75 mph near the desert foothills.
The storm is forecasted from the Gulf of Alaska to bring cooler temperatures to Southern California, keeping highs in the low to mid-60s, significantly lower than the typical mid-70s in early May. However, the National Weather Service anticipates a 'warming and drying trend' in the following week.
