Event organizers reported more than 840,000 applications for the 2025 TCS London Marathon, surpassing the previous world record of 578,000. Among the UK applications, there were 50.33% men, 49.03% women, and 0.64% non-binary applicants. 167,687 non-UK residents applied internationally.
The surge in women applications from 43% to 49% is remarkable, approaching gender parity. Hugh Brasher praised the event's extraordinary nature, emphasizing the unity, support, and positivity it generates amidst global challenges.
