Qualcomm preps lower-end Snapdragon X Plus chips to compete with Intel and Apple
Briefly

Qualcomm's Snapdragon X series challenges Apple Silicon, leading to Microsoft planning an Arm-based Surface tablet flagship and Arm-native Windows apps like Chrome and Dropbox.
The new Snapdragon X Plus chip offers a lower-end option with differences from the X Elite such as 10 CPU cores, no clock-speed boosting, and a 3.4 GHz base frequency.
Although Snapdragon X Plus lacks clock boosting, its performance is comparable to Apple's M3 chip, surpassing Apple in multi-threaded tasks and energy efficiency compared to Intel's Core Ultra and AMD's Ryzen chips.
All Snapdragon X chips, including the Elite and Plus models, share the same Oryon CPU architecture and manufacturing process, ensuring performance and efficiency while using a neural processing unit.
