Many roles in today's product design market try to pull the decision-making rug out from under you... designers' time for product decisions is invalid. Designers have simply become lazy and UX is limited by the inflexibility of DS... the lack of a mature product culture in general.
For example, a table component in DS does not sort by column, forcing the designer to add a sort dropdown somewhere on the side of the table.
