Music notation should be as accessible and as fluid as text is, on the web.
Some years ago I prototyped a music renderer I called Scribe that outputs SVG from JSON with the goal of creating a responsive music renderer.
The musical staff is grid-like, with pitch plotted up the vertical axis and time running left to right along the horizontal axis. The vertical axis is defined by a class named .stave.
